Work is built to the standards that govern it rather than to habit, which in practice means framing set out to the AS 1684 span, bracing and tie-down requirements, wet-area work built to the AS 3740 waterproofing requirements, stairs and balustrade to the rise, going and gap rules in the National Construction Code, and access modifications built to AS 1428.1 where a job calls for it.
